This is how you should deal with Spurious Call’s from big companies if you’re not sure they are legitimate.
A person calls from “Microsoft” (or any other large computer company, that you have likely heard of).
They say: “We have noticed some unusual activity on your computer or your computer needs upgrading.”
They may even provide specific information about you or your account with them.
Then they explain that they “will need remote access to your computer…”
You give them remote access, because they sound so convincing and plausible…
Very soon, you are doing everything they suggest, including accessing your bank account!
“Wow, it couldn’t happen to me…” It happens every day.
So, when this “company” calls the correct response is.
“I do not have any issues with my computer (even if you do), thank you and goodbye.”
The real Microsoft – will NEVER call you nor will the other large computer companies. And if you think it is real but are not sure, give us a call we will happily give you advice on this.
Long story short. If you have a problem with your computer, you make the call. They don’t call you.
If you are still unsure about spurious call’s then please feel free to contact us and we’d be happy to help.
